Microphone is not working. Please help.

Hi guys,
I am using Linux Mint 9 Isadora. I have got output sound perfectly, but unfortunately my microphone is not working. Under sound preference, nothing is muted. The strange thing is, under input section, I don't have any microphone I can choose. I presume normally there should be microphone 1/ 2 and line in or something like that. I downloaded alsamixer, very strange as well, I have only got three things: master, pcm and capture. But when I used to use it on Ubuntu, I have a lot more options. Is it because I didn't installed the driver properly or even the whole system?

Oh, btw, here is my output of lspci | grep Audio:

The first thing I would do is run alsamixer in a terminal and make sure all of your sound preferences are turned to the maximum setting (it's around the 15th bar to the right).

That is the strange part. When I run alsamixer in terminal, the main page has only master and pcm. Then I press tab, only capture is there. And I tap again, master, pcm and capture. That is all. Do you think mint does not recognize my sound card? If so, how to fix it?
