Just installed Mint 9 and is working ok. Never crashes, connect to the internet with no problem.
But have a very annoying situation. Some of the aplications , like openoffice, vitrualbox and VLC, are in greek !!
Maybe missed something during configuration but rechecked everything, updated, dowloaded, removed, installed and still having the same problem.
Even in applications where accepting license terms, the main text is in english and the agree or not agree are in greek.
In OpOffice can write text in spanish wtih accents and all but the toolbars and menus are in Greek !! Wished knew greek, For us one of the classical languages but is not the case unfortunately.
any help will be appreciated

Re: Problems with software, Mint 9
You may have set your keyboard correctly but set the wrong default language during install.
I would suggest from the MintMenu open the Control Center. Under the System heading is "Language Support"
From there you can set languages for the windows and buttons.
Hope that helps- Ive never had to use it. Good luck
