Hey... Just installed a fresh copy of Mint yesterday and I've been getting it set up just the way I like it based on my time in Ubuntu, and so far, so good.
However, I'm having a bit of an (aesthetic) issue with the "taskbar"/notification area icons... Banshee has recently acquired a grey background and I'm not sure why, and then JDownloader now has a grey background too... Is there anything I can do to resolve this or am I stuck with the weirdo icon issues? (Yeah, silly question.)
I've restarted, closed the programs and started them again... Haven't fiddled with the icons other than to give JDownloader a better launcher icon in the menu... Any ideas as to how I can make the icon backgrounds match the default theme?
Screen is attached, sorry for the vagueness but I hope it'll be clear enough!

Re: Weird background on taskbar icons...
Hi,
Below are not exactly a fix, but:
right-click panel
background
select any three options there, as long as the grey background is gone
I've seen it happens before on my machine, but I'm not sure what i did (maybe i changed the theme)
Regards,

Thanks for the suggestion... It doesn't change anything though, except for the colour of the panel to the left of the notification area.
On your mention of themes I started toggling the themes around... It shows up the way it does in the screen in Shiki-Mint; the Banshee background glitch disappears in the other themes though (although it introduces a new background glitch for the sound icon). Puzzling. It seems really hit and miss which applications are affected (eg: VLC is affected, but Skype is fine)... Is it maybe a problem with the icons themselves and the default theme?
Thanks for the help, though! I appreciate it.

Re: Weird background on taskbar/notifcation area icons...
It's not your panel, it's the Icons which do not have a "Clear" background. You can fix it with Gimp, but it takes some work. Copy the icon, change the background and save, then replace the Icon.
