Shutdown and Restart shortcut?? Possible?

It is possible to create a shutdown and restart shortcut on the desktop?
I appreciate it, if anyone can help me... thanks

IMHO I suppose it could be by creating your own "launcher" with command shutdown (see man shutdown) and proper switches to that command but never tried to create.

In the launcher specify the command like:

shutdown -r now // for restarting
shutdown -h now // for turning off

You could use "add to panel" (right click on the panel bar) to put a shutdown button on the panel then it's always available.
