Hi i am running Mint 10 from a USB key at the moment and all is going well. Running from the usb should i be able to do everything i can do if i installed it on my hard drive. I can surf the net alright(like now) but what about things like the 3d cube and effects like wobbly windows i cant seem to get them to work or maybe i'm just doing it wrong or its a hardware thing. What about installing new packages is that possible.?
My plan is to buy a netbook in a few weeks and its mint all the way so want to see what settings i like or dislike. I'm running it on a Windows xp machine at the moment. Thanks for any help.

In Package Manager check you have compiz-fusion-plugins-extra installed,if you don't select it and install it,that should make the cube etc. work.
