Hi Everyone, I have an external drive with music and movies on it that I use as a backup. I am able to read the drive and watch movies but when I try to copy anything to the drive I get this, Error while copying Error creating directory:Input/Output error. Every thing was fine until yesterday (computer is on 24/7 and I did reboot and remount after the problem started) Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: External Drive I/O Error
Are you an owner of the drive?kafka75 wrote:Hi Everyone, I have an external drive with music and movies on it that I use as a backup. PS. Maybe root is an owner (not any person) ..
Re: External Drive I/O Error
Yes I do own the drive but I get permissions could not be determined even as root. The drive is formatted NTFS if that helps. Thanks.
Re: External Drive I/O Error (SOLVED)
Hey Everyone. I hooked up my drive to a Windows machine and ran chkdsk. It fixed some errors and now it has no issues with read/write. Kiitos yrittää auttaa oobetimer (not sure if I translated that right) But thanks.
