console quotes/fortune cookies... how?

Postby KhaaL on Thu Oct 25, 2007 3:25 pm

Hey guys

I wonder how you make the console show fortunecookie or random quote at startup? I'm running another linux distro at the moment and it would be nifty to have one of Linux mints gems :)

Thanks!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Huh... I did totally the opposite... I disabled those quotes... Under Mint, this can be done by editing /etc/bash.bashrc

The last like should contain the link to the fortune executable i.e.

/usr/bin/fortune

or something like that... I guess you can also put that in .bashrc under your home directory as well

Cheers
