hey, i used ubuntu for a little while a time before, and one thing i figured out is linux and the internet are inseperable, period. i was wondering if someone knew of a 56k modem brand i could buy that would be compatable in some way? long as its dial up, i don't care if its pci, external, or from the 1980's.

edit: i'm using celena (hope i spelled that right) if it makes any difference.

Any external serial port modem should be O K, but do not use Hayes they are mostly still winmodems, even the the external ones.

External serial port modem will be /dev/ttyS0
