Welcome to Linux Mint!
Memory test is used to check if you are cheating on your girlfriend. If you are not installing memory DIMMs without a static guard, then you need it as much as you need a trip to the dentist.

DIMM is a Dual Inline Memory Module otherwise known as a memory chip. These small circuit boards are very sensitive to static electricity.
