when coming from Ubuntu, it's weird and annoying the fact of gksudo is none, or so short - on Ubuntu, gksudo lasts for several minutes (maybe 15?), and on both Mint and Crunchbang (both now based on Debian instead of Ubuntu), this timeout seems to be 0 seconds (for testing, try entering 'gksudo sync' several times in the Terminal) - is this 'bug' planned to be fixed in the next Mint versions? and how can we fix it meanwhile?

Re: why gksudo timeout is none or so short?
You should be using either 'sudo' or 'gksu', not 'gksudo'. Sudo is for standard command-line stuff, gksu for running apps with GUIs.

thanks, "gksu sync" works, but why do i get "sh: getcwd() failed: No such file or directory" from the terminal? is this fine anyway?
Re: why gksudo timeout is none or so short?
You shouldn't be using gksu with sync, it's not a GUI program. AFAIK you don't need sudo with it, either.
