I have a problem that i m not able to set the sound prefrences as root login.(actually sound prefrences is not opening up)
Also User group & settings is not opening.

It is very unlikely that anyone here is going to help you with logging in as root. Since this is disabled by default in Mint (and Ubuntu), you must have enabled it for a reason, but the ability to permanently break your system is too great and since you provide no information in your post I can only suggest you try a re-install.
