well i am trying to run yahoo messenger on mint.
i managed to install it using wine, but it wont log me in.
any sugestions or should i just forget it?

Have you checked out Pidgin (in the repository)? Works for me!

yes, it works for me too.
But this is more like a.. hmm. i want to know if it can be done, it could help me in other cases where i dont have an linux alternative

Most apps that have been tried in Wine will be listed in the Wine Database at the Winehq site. There will be information and user feedback about how well the app runs and what had to be done to get it to run.

weirdly enough, they say that they managed to log in, which i didnt. anyway it crashed right after that, so it probbably wont work.
