Can't play specific flash content

Post by mintuser »

Hi guys,

I'm not able to play flash content from arte.

Here is one example: http://liveweb.arte.tv/de/video/One_Sho ... in_Russel/

I tried it with Chromium and Firefox4. In addition I have flash installed in its 64bit version 10.3.162.29.

What can I do?

I just tested that link. No-go on my end, as well. I have the same flash version as you. The site may work with a previous version of flash.
Current hardware: a Dell OptiPlex 3010 desktop, a Dell Inspiron 531 desktop, and a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.
Current OS: LMDE 3

Thanks for your answer?

Is there any chance to find an old version in one of the ppa?

Probably due to bad coding of the site. Inform the devs of the site about it.

Hm and on Archlinux there is no problem too.

But I tested it there with flash 10.2.153.1-1. Where can I find this version for LM?

on Sid, flash 10.2 r152 can play

on fedora 14, flash 10.1 r102 can play

on Mint Debian -xfce RC, flash 10.3 d162 cannot play

I think that's the point. All previous versions of Flash works whereas 10.3.X can't play the files.

Yes, 10.3 is the experimental 'Square" version of the true 64-bit flash. We are using the version that is the newest, so some websites have not caught up yet.

The other flash versions are 32-bit with nspluginwrapper and 32-bit libs bundled together for use on 64-bit systems.

I am on 64-bit Debian and LMDE right now, and this is what I see:
flashplayer-mozilla = flash 10.2 with 32-bit libs and nspluginwrapper
flashplugin-nonfree = flash 10.3 true 64-bit
Current hardware: a Dell OptiPlex 3010 desktop, a Dell Inspiron 531 desktop, and a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.
Current OS: LMDE 3
