Mint 4 and Mplayer

Postby Longboard on Thu Nov 29, 2007 3:29 am

Hello
new to linux:Humble end user: done some research and run a few distros and then Cassandra.
Cool Live Cd in VMware and on box = all good.
Happy to see V4 dl'd and cannot get mplayer (FF plugin) to work with mpegs on various pages: looks like its starting "buffering etc" then hit play and it just stops.

What am I doing wrong?
How to fix?
Not emotionally attached to mplayer :)

( fwiw the FF plugin in Mandriva and PCLinux OS works fine in VM and Live CD)

I really like the useability of Mint and want to make it a springboard to the future.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Ahh OK
I'll try that and get back to you.

Can I just install FF addons from Mozilla as per usual?
I suspect not?

Regards.
