I'm completely new to linux, one of my friends recommended Daryana to me and i burned a CD last night. Everything looked pretty interesting until i started trying to install Daryana. The setup process reaches up to the point where the keyboard layout is chosen, the setup than ran the partitioner (scanning disks and other messages), after that i waited for nearly an hour, the drive of my laptop made whirring noises intermittently and the HDD in use light blinked too, but the layout selection screen was all that was visible, in effect my pc was stuck. If you've ever been excited about something new but failed to receive it, you know about the kind of frustration i felt.
I have an Acer 3004WLCi, with 512 MBs of RAM and an AMD 3100+ Sempron processor.
