Can't figure out how to get the "wifi signal" and "Updater"

Hi. First off thanks to everyone that makes Linux Mint a success. Its awesome.

Second, I'm an idiot, and can't figure out how to get the wifi signal strength icon, and the "lock" mint update icon back on the bar, after accidentally removing them from the bar.

to get mintUpdate back, go into mint menu > administration > mintUpdate. Sorry I cant help you with wireless, I am wired in.

Doesn't a reboot help?
You could try to just open a terminal window and type nm-applet --sm-disable (I think that should solve it).
To make it appear every time you boot:
Open Mintmenu, go to Preferences and select sessions.
Just click add and type in the command above as Command. At least that is how it is on my comp!

I will try the suggestions when I get home.

I was trying to customize the bar, and right clicked on what I thought was the seperator, clicked remove from panel, and both the default wireless signal icon, and the mint update icon dissapeared.

Re-boot, didn't help.

If you removed something from panel, and I recommend you try this first, then you might have removed the notification area. Try to add that first, by right clicking on the panel, add to panel, scroll down to Utilities and select Notification area.

Ok I did the same thing when trying to remake the panel and had the same problem just re-add "Notification Area" and you will get those back and others like pidgin when it's running and Amorak. I know I just kind of repeated the last post but I hope it helped somewhat...
