Autodesk/Discreet Flame

Postby Compositorius on Fri Dec 14, 2007 2:12 pm

I am building a Linux system for the first time.
It will operate on a Quad-Xeon Server with max RAM, and a few TBs of onboard space.

My only use for it will be to composite 4K HD and 70mm full-rez footage in Flame by Autodesk, formerly Discreet.

Has anyone out there had any experience with Flame in Mint?

If so; what are the nightmare headlines?

Thanks,
Comp Master

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Does this help? I also tried a quick search of Ubuntuforums, but it returned no hits, so I am guessing that not that many has tried this yet, or there is no trouble with it...

Thanks Magnus...
That was a nice writeup that I have yet to of read.

We'll just hope for the best while anticipating some obstacles.

Autodesk has world-class support but not when you become your own integrator.

Let's roll...

Hehe, no problem. My impression of Autodesk is that they keep forgetting that linux exists. I am still waiting for a linux version of Autocad.. :(
