Post by Reorx »

...and/or what do they do??? I can't even look them up because I don't know their name!...

As a second question - what causes them to change position/order?

Those are just dividers. They are there to separate things on the panel. The right side will have your notifications area, time, audio/volume options. And the right side by default will have the minimize all button.

The notification icons seem to just change order whenever you boot. BUT the time will always be last on the far left and the update shield is always first (unless you have something like a chat client running, which will then appear before the shield). At least this is the case for me.

Thank you CT...

Do you know what makes them change position/order? The second photo above was taken on the same desktop as the first about 1 day after...

TIA! :D

I am not quite sure what makes them move around. All I know is that it has done it on me from time to time. but it never allowed the icons to cross the divider.

You can manually rearrange the icons. Right click on the icon. Uncheck the "lock to panel" option. Then right click and click "move." You can move it around now. When you set it in a place you want to keep it, left click and the right click the icon and check "lock to panel."

Make sure those moving icons are locked to the panel booting might be messing with them somehow....
