Okay I'm channeling a question here that was asked in the Dutch part of the forum (the user thats asked the question doesn't speak english) .. Ubuntu's next release will be a LTS , which means as far as I know there will be guaranteed security updates for the next 3 years ( am I wrong ??) The question was if this will also apply to the next version of Mint (5.0 ?) as that version is probably going to be based on the next Ubuntu release.
I know almost all used repo's are Ubuntu repo's so there shouldn't be any problems there , but since Mint also uses some programs that are not in Ubuntu I think the question is a valid one.

We promise a fairly long time support for all our releases
The question has been discussed and something along that line is to come. Remember Mint is young so we have not determined all options yet (somewhat inexact language, but I think you get it
