Newbie Question Regarding Linux Mint 64 bit support

Postby blueray on Mon Dec 17, 2007 11:58 pm

Hello Everyone!

This is my first hour with a Linux distribution and I am an ex Windows User. I find this operating system very good indeed! Now to my following question and please do not be offended if it has been asked before. I searched the forum and could not find it.

Does Linux Mint support 64bit processors? If yes, is this support in the main Daryna version of Linux Mint?

Thank you,
Peter

Does Linux Mint support 64bit processors?

Yes - I don't know any (recent) operating system that does not.
This is written in Daryna (32 bit) with a 64 bit AMD CPU
This is different from the question "is there a 64 bit version" and the answer to that is no, maybe in the future.

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
