Config Compiz-Fusion Animations

Sorry about asking such a newbie question, but I've already consulted the forums and google to no avail.

I'm using Linux Mint Daryna, and I finally got all of the proprietary drivers working, and even enabled the advanced desktop effects. I want to customize the way Compiz behaves, but I can't seem to find the menu for that. It was easy to find in XFCE and Mandriva 2008, but I can't seem to find it in Daryna w/ Gnome. I can only find the option to "Enable Advanced Effects" in the config menu, but that's it.

I really want my windows to burn away when I close them! Also, I want to change my shortcut keys. Can anybody help me out here? Really appreciate it.

And Linux Mint is sweet stuff.

you just have to install the compiz config manager open a console and enter

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

that will give the settings manager, then go to preferences, advanced desktop effects settings

Go to CCSM and select Animations, then choose close animation tab. Double click on whatever is at the top of the animation list box and then select Burn from the drop down box, then save and exit CCSM.
You can change delays and particles and lots of other things as well.

Thanks everyone who pitched in...I had the exact same question about Compiz-Fusion.

Getting used to sudo apt-get install-ing instead of using Synaptic, too!
