Welcome to Mint ayanph You have done the right thing and posted details of your laptop - especially laptops are hopeless to find out anything about on the net as what seems to be one laptop very often are two entirely different computers. But - there is nothing about your sound Run lspci in a terminal and post the part that has to do with sound. I think this is a mixed hard/software problem

Thanks Husse for the reply. I was busy trying to make my 3D graphics working in Mint and got it thanks to the info I get from this forum. I even posted what I did to resolve it having an ATI Radeon 200M video card. Hehehe! I will definitely post the information as soon as I get home and will wait for any info / suggestion from the group. Cheers! I love Linux Mint!
