Boosting system ram with usb stick

My PC has an internal spare usb connector and was wondering if I could use an old 256mb usb stick to boost my Mint OS ram? I believe you can to some degree do this in the Vista OS. Maybe use it as a temp storage area for the internet cache? Has anybody else tried this and how is it done?

You can't as far as I know. This is a Vista invention and it has not been implemented in any other OS yet
Perhaps you could place your swap on it, but that's no good since it will wear out quickly
