keyboard and mouse

The linux mint live cd that i obtained from EFY megazine doesnot detect my laptops keyboard and mouse when boot from cd. system is LENOVO Y500, 512MB of RAM, 80 GB of HDD from Hitachi, celeron 1.7 Ghz, 945GM chipset. Apert from this problem everything else are fine and the interface looks really nice. Due to this problem, i was not able to install the the distribution into my laptop. Need help ASAP
