wifi drivers debian

i have a dell vostro 1510 laptop, but my wifi doest seem to work. when i do lspci -vv i get this,< Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02)>
any body cann tell me where to find the driver or what do i have to look for in synaptic? thx for your help

you need to install firmware-iwlwifi from the non-free repos.

Usually sufficient is:

Code: Select all

sudo aptitude install firmware-iwlwifi
After reboot your wifi should work

I am having the same problem but on Lisa and the non-debian version. I cant find the firmware package. what repo do i need to fix this?

like my tripple boot win7 linux mint, and debian.. but always boot mint first, becuse its prettyer to work with

Just installed LMDE to my friends laptop.. it is acer aspire 5538G. no wi-fi too. tomorrow will try your method. thx
