No Start Menu at the bottom

Postby lintz69 on Tue Jan 29, 2008 2:30 pm

Ok, I downloaded Mint and boot it from USB. I got it from PendriveLinux.com. Not sure which version. When it comes up there is no start menu or taskbar. (I know in linux they may be called something different) I have a 20" Monitor. I run my mouse around the screen, it doesn't go off the screen so I don't think it's a resolution issue. When I go to the top right I see 4 screens, but there is no start menu. I don't know how to access the programs. I think this version looks alot better then a lot of other linux versions, but need to know how to get the menu up. Thanks.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Sounds a bit odd.
Did you check the md5sum of the ISO?
Could be a bad download

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
