Can installed apps automatically show in main Mint menu?

Postby klopus on Sat Feb 02, 2008 11:49 pm

First post and first experience with desktop Linux, so please be gentle :)

I just installed Daryna on my old laptop, played around and really like everything. One very Windows question though. Win normal installation routine is that shortcut to the new app appears in Start/All Programs menu. Is there a way to have same behavior for packages downloaded and installed via Synaptec or other package manager?

Many thanks :)

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Most of the time, yes.

Some apps do not show up. For example, plain old Timidity is a sound program that allows midi files to run. It doesn't show up. Windows apps installed through Wine often don't appear either.

Your regular apps however, should show up if they have a pretty gui.
