I'm new to mint and to the linux world. I want to open some ports so that I can normally use aMule and Azureus. As it is, they are unable to download/upload anything.

PS - Since I am brazilian, I don't know if you guys use the term "open ports"...what I want is to liberate the connection so that aMule and others can download and upload.

That should just work
If you have a router you may have to open ports (yes the correct term) in the router
