you do not have any kind of server running
you are not connected directly to the internet. If you are behind any kind of home router (remember to change the default password for it ) this is the case. Also many ADSL modems do protect you the same way.
Start in "Recovery mode" and be very careful - you are root and can do real harm.
No sudo needed - normally you precede these command with sudo.
I have never thought about it before but I suppose an uninstall can be done without internet connection
If firestarter really is called firestarter as a "package" then
