Closed apps not showing in bottom panel

Postby dr.twinny on Sat Mar 17, 2012 4:18 pm

I've tried searching to see if there has already been a thread on this but here goes. I'm currently running LM 12 with Cinnamon 1.4 and it's been great. But today, the strangest thing has happened. Usually when I close programs such as Skype, Clementine, Jdownloader and such forth, they are minimized to the right hand side of the panel. But today, I did the same and they just disappear!.

I've checked in system monitor to see if they are running, and they are. But I do not know how to recover them. The only option is to kill the processes and start all over :(

Can anyone offer some assistance please??

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Ok, everything is back to normal. Sorry, if this seemed like a waste of time :D

If your issue ever happens again:
1. check that system tray applet is activated in your pannel (right-click on panel > add/remove applets menu),
2. restart cinnamon (troubleshoot > restart cinnamon)
3. If skype icon still does not show up, close (or kill) all instances of skype and repoen it.

It solves my issue on my Linux Mint 12 (cinnamon).
