Repository problem? Or...?

Postby edzep on Sat Mar 31, 2012 6:55 pm

Dang, every time I try to use Synaptic, it locks up, if not when I refresh, then after I select software for installation. In that same vein, the update manager hung on me several times, before I finally succeeded in getting an update for my fresh install of Mint 12 KDE. I've had no other problems with my 'net connection.

Is there a repository that I should be adding or deleting from those included with the ISO?

I'm afraid to invest too much time tweaking up my system, if I'm going to have to abandon it; yet, I've already invested enough time that I'd rather make it work.

(Previous 2 years with Mint 10 Gnome, and several KDE distros before that.)

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I followed another poster's lead, and reinstalled -- this time Gnome version, then added KDE. The updates and software installs are working perfectly. This hassel takes away some of my warm and fuzzy feeling for Mint. But, it's a beautiful install which I expect to be using for another couple of years.
