Resolution Problem
I am trying 4.0 KDE, I have Nividia and on the install everything is fine. Then all of the sudden, this last time I rebooted it was like the desktop was 4x the monitor I would have to move the mouse around to see the whole desktop. I went into System Settings and Lowered the resolution and set the monitor to the correct driver. That only worked temporly until the next boot. It is like it is a coin toss whether or not X will be right.

Re: Resolution Problem
try looking at your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file or post it here.
when you find all the resolutions listed remove all but the one you want.
