I would like to add the 'places' plugin
http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/xfce4-places-pluginto the panel in cassandra xfce edition but I cannot find it through synaptic to install it.
I downloaded the files from the above website, but there is no installer just a load of files that I don't know what to do with.
Is there an easy way to install this plugin ?
cheers

thanks for that.
I ran the configure command and it says I need the package gtk+-2.0.
when I do sudo apt-get install it says it cannot find this package. I can't see it in synaptic either.
Any ideas?
thanks again

I think what you need is gtk2-engines-xfce but that should be installed....

I gave up on adding the plugin.
I just made my own 'places' menu by adding a launcher with shortcuts to my most used folders.
This works fine for me.
