yesterday I wanted to unistall kontact and kmail on a newly installed LinuxMint16 (KDE) and after that every single KDE application was gone. IIRC some KDE libraries were still present, but I have the strong feeling that after the next boot I would have been without a GUI.
While installing the missing packages again mintinstall only reported on the console that a package wasn't installed ("too many open files"), but I didn't get an error message somewhere else. So I wonder how someone who doesn't run mintinstall from a console can know about those failures?
How can this be?
I've now left mintinstall for synaptics which also tells me what other packages it will uninstall if I let it uninstall something.
