Mint Install Software Manager Does Not Work At All

I reloaded Mint 5 Elyssa on to a little older computer I have and when finished updating it I went to start looking for additional software and when I clicked on the Software Manager (Mint Install) button - Nothing Happens At All. Anyone have any Ideas?

I found a solution. I went to synaptic package manager and found mintinstall and marked it for upgrade (there was not reinstall option) and that fixed my problem.

I had the same problem recently. Running it from menu did not work. When I typed in console 'mintinstall' I received this error

Few ours later everything came back to normal.
