file transfer stopped at around 94-98%
You mean the progress in install I suppose
I have a feeling I know what happened
Do you have a complicated partition structure - that is lots of partitions?
Did you use guided partitioning?
If yes on both questions install failed when it was to install grub - this is a nasty and well known (at least for us) bug in Ubiquity (the installer)
If you boot the live CD and use Gparted to create partitions before you install and then manual partitioning so you can install in the partitions you created I think it will work (you select mount point by "Edit" for the partition - a minimum of root / and swap)
Mint installs nicely in a logical partition

No problem with AMD - I have two desktops running Athlon 3700+
At what stage is that photo taken and what is it that's repeated?
I don't think this is after the failed installation or is it?

i was supprised that i can loggin to Linux Mint whereas i didnt finish installing Linux Mint.
Maybe not that strange, at 98% all that's left is to install grub so if you look in /boot you will not find a grub folder
Do you mean that you get something (please tell us what) repeated over and over again on the screen.
The entire screen?
Can you use mouse/keyboard?

It can still be a bad CD even if you come this far
Did you check the md5sum and burned as slow as possible?
