How to revert to the default Google search in Firefox?

Post by squashpup »

How do I replace the Linux Mint search plugin with a plain, default Google search plugin? Thanks!

Figured it out. Delete the Linux Mint Google search engine that comes with Firefox.

Install this plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3682

Go to Google.com, and right click in the search box.

Choose "Add to Search Bar".

That's it.

You can also use this to add a variety of other search engines.

Thanks for posting this. I was just wondering the same thing but went about it differently.

You wouldn't believe how many months I tried to figure this out, when the answer was staring me in the face the whole time!

1. Simply click the search logo at the upper-right as though you wanted to choose Amazon or something else
2. Click Manage Search Engines
3. Remove the Linux Mint Google engine
4. Move Original Google to the top
