Network issue with Intel D945GCLF mobo

Post by yamawho »

I tried the live cd on this system and I am able to access the network however, I tried to play an MP3 and Thudar seems to freeze up. Here is a link to this board ...

I remember reading that there was network linux issues with this mobo when it came out ...

BTW I was able to play a MP3 and XviD over the network on my NF2 system without issues from the live cd.

It's supposed to have Realtek LAN
Run lspci and post the bit about Ethernet
Also check mintWifi for a driver
It's in /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintWifi/drivers

It looks like the kernel 2.6.24 does not support this Ethernet chip.

How can one update the kernel to 2.6.25 ?

That app is really cool Husse but I can't make it work.

It freezes while it's rebuilding the kernel ...

I also tried reinstalling XFCE and attempted from a fresh install.

I tried 3 different times and it froze at different places .. oh well.
