If not, open a terminal, type:

mount

...and look for a disk that matches your external drive.
Otherwise...
Try...

Code: Select all

cd /home/YOUR_USERNAME/

-> Hit 'Enter'

sudo mkdir external

-> Hit 'Enter'

Code: Select all

sudo mount /dev/sdaWHATEVER_NUMBER_IT_GETS/ /home/YOUR_USERNAME/external

-> Hit 'Enter'
