Just loaded Mint 5.0 and the wireless is not working.
I can download and .EXE file from Hp but the windows wireless drives needs an .INF file so how do I get this?
I have also see Broadcom has a Linux driver but I'm not sure about the install instructions
Looking for some help and guidance i'm still new to LINUX.
Thanks

If you an connect with ethernet use that to follow the advice here
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiD ... ca757b2851
and here
http://linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=17688 - this is to make it work automatically after reboot for some cards
The exe you downloaded is probably a self extracting exe and can be opened with the archiver app

Ok I installed Elyssa 64 connect to internet, then in the Synaptic package manager activate "Hardy-Proposed" in the updates tab, reload the repositories and updated 2.6.24.21 kernel, with its headers, modules and restricted modules.
Reboot the laptop, and then in the Restricted Drivers Application, activate the NVidia graphics driver and the wl driver (which is the Broadcom supplied driver for the BCM4310-4312 chipset).
And just like that I has wireless

Please don't do that - use mintUpdatethen in the Synaptic package manager activate "Hardy-Proposed"
Now you've got the -21 kernel and I've seen reports that there's problems with it....
