Which version of mintUpdate?
It does not show directly so you have to use a little trick

Code: Select all

apt show mintupdate | grep Version
Some version of mintUpdate has a problem with finding the updates
I recommend ver 3.2 and to get that you have to enable the Romeo repositories or download and install
http://packages.linuxmint.com/pool/rome ... .2_all.deb
(As with all debs - just double click)

I must admit I did not get any wiser from the output...
"Helps installing security updates and new versions of packages."
Not from this

Code: Select all

apt show mintupdate | grep Version
You get version in red and the number
