XFCE Cursors

Post by Rokurosv »

Well I managed to install a new cursor theme on XFCE, Mario Gant, but I'm having some troubles installing another one, the Buuf Theme: http://www.xfce-look.org/content/show.p ... tent=74495, I unpacked the file, copied it to /usr/share/icons and it didn't appear on the cursor menu, any other way to install the cursor theme?

Try putting it in "/home/username/.icons/"
If the folder doesn't exist, create it.
Thunar uses Ctrl+h to show/hide hidden files.

I believe the folder name has to be the same name as the theme name for XFCE.
I will try this cursor theme later today to see if I can get it to work.

O BTW
If /home/username/.icons/ doesn't work, try /home/username/.themes/ or /usr/share/themes/

Enter here searching for a solution in 2020 , I can assure

Code: Select all

/usr/share/icons
works for LM19.3 xfce. This is the place where mouse cursors are saved.

If you save there the folder containing cursor.theme file and the subfolder "cursors" with it.

This thread started 14 years ago and basically ended 14 years ago, before it was restarted in 2020 and now in 2022.
Has it occurred to anybdoy that details, which were valid in 2008, may no longer apply in 2022?
Kindly start new threads for any question affecting xfce in 2022 instead of undigging zombies from their graves, please.
