Thunderbird: Clicking links in emails won't launch Firefox

Post by EurekaKDE »

In Thunderbird, when I click on a URL or embedded link in an email, it does nothing.
How can I get these links to open in Firefox?

Using Linux Mint 5 Elyssa, KDE Community Edition.
I didn't have this problem with Linux Mint 4, KDE Community Edition.

I had a feeling this was a setting in TB and I was right

Thanks. But the only items in there are jpg and pdf.

Are you sure it should be there? It's an URL or link in the email message, not an attachment.

With the help of the folks in the Mozillazine forum, I fixed the problem by editing the config. file in Tbird Edit/Prefs/Advanced.

network.protocol-handler.app.http Value= /usr/bin/firefox
network.protocol-handler.app.http Value= /usr/bin/firefox
network.protocol-handler.app.https Value=/usr/bin/firefox

If Firefox is the default browser, this should work right out of the box.
It did in Mint 4 KDE. :x

Thanks for trying to help, though.
