What I've found talking against it is that you might have problems in/decreasing partition size, but I may have misunderstood

I install and uninstall quite a bit and it's good to be able to resize partitions

Hmm maybe but to quote a guy on the web, "So what? I don't need to resize my home partition anyway. And everything else can be reinstalled: I don't care much about the rest of the disk, as what matters is in my home partition."
