You have to open the Video CD as "Video CD" and not the single files on it. If you burnt the Video CD correctly then it should play.

That's something completely else. In theory every video medium should fail then in your case, not just Video CD's.

Go into the "Preferences" menu of MPlayer and check the "Video" output settings. Depending on your graphics card and driver that you use for it not all options there might work equally well. So you should pick another output method and try again.

What PC and what graphics card do you have?

Hi
Try , Open Mplayer,right click on Mplayer
screen, Preferences, Set video x11, audio alsa,
Then right click on Mplayer Screen choose
open DVD or VCD, or open files
