well dual booting to vista just for internet is just horrible (ive been down that road. hated it. atheros too.) but im typing to you wirelessly on mint now. heres how i did it. i see that you already have ndiswrapper installed which is good. youre going to need it. now i forgot where i got this file but google for net5211 and download that. go into linux and open windows wireless drivers. click on add and install the net5211 file you downloaded. wireless might now work. if it doesnt then you need to get rid of all the madwifi stuff. it just gets in the way of ndiswrapper.

i tried your method using the inf file net5211 it works but how do you solve connecting on password protected wireless access it ask for password after entering it it just loads and never connect. i removed the password on my wireless router and it connects no problem.... now i returned it back to using madwifi and have no problems at all. btw using atheros wireless same as the topic starter
