*** I really appreciate your help guys, but I think Debian is easier for me, so I'll go back to it ***

Hi! I just installed Mint Elyssa x86 and since I ran the LiveCD the usplash wasn't showed, I only get a black screen and after the system loads I get the login screen, nothing found in the forums, so any idea? Thanks!

To be sure - it gets totally black until you're about to log in?
Not heard of before actually
If you have some Linux knowledge this can be the solution

Please don't try it if you do not understand it

Thanks Husse! I just checked and the UUID swap matches, so I think that's not the problem, and yes it is totally black until the login screen. Any other idea? By the way, the same LiveCD works fine with another system.

To be sure - we are talking about an installed system?
There is another similar solution you could try
http://www.linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopi ... fs#p105370
Now you do not have the wrong resolution, you have none at all
Try a fairly low resolution like 800x600 and perhaps you'll see something

Hey Husse thanks again, just to confirm, yes, it is an installed system, and I changed the resolution to 800x600 but the same black screen :( .
