no sound

Post by neomaxi »

I searched these forums and could not find a solution.
I have KDE CE 5.0

I have a few different sound cards.

1 out of 5 times I boot, the sound works.

the times it does, i go into Kmix and the correct sound card is selected.

When it doesn't work... i go into Kmix and the wrong sound card is selected.
but when i do select the corrrrect card.. i still get no sound.

I just have to keep rebooting until the correct sound card on boot loads..

any ideas?

I have a few different sound cards.
?? a few...
Or you have two cards, one built in and the other an add on (pci) card?
If so disable the built in card in BIOS
No guarantee it helps, it can probably be detected anyway but it may help

the built in one, I am using.. I have a USA soundblaster MP3 USB one.. and it also says Aureal ...

so I have three options in KMIX.

in PCLOS.. i could just go the control center and choose which card or devince i wanted at boot.

is there something similar to this in Mint KDE ?
