What happened to Synaptic?!
Weird thing happening here... I figure it's something related to the implementation of Felicia... but still I'm curious...
So I go to install a program from Synaptic, which, as per usual, spits up the Authorization thing for my password. Great! ... but, not so great. Synaptic opens for a fraction of a second. Huh, I said. And reset.
Unfortunately this happened again when I reset. So I tried a Deb file. Which did the exact same thing. And apt-get install doesn't work in terminal either!!!
Now, is the root of the problem on my site of the tubes or is it a sort-of-routine temporary update thing...? Anyone else having this problem?

Re: What happened to Synaptic?!
By reset, you want to say that Synaptic crashes? In a terminal, have you a message?
Can you be more precise please?
Sorry if my question is a little silly but sometimes my english is... a little "limited" and I am not always sure what I read.

Re: What happened to Synaptic?!
Ah, don't feel bad about it! I should've written it a bit clearer anyways...
No, I meant that I actually reset the computer, thinking that the Synaptic issue is from that, but that Synaptic still crashed after I reset the computer.
It just loads, and then closes itself.
As for Terminal:
This was done in Super User mode.

Re: What happened to Synaptic?!
it started happening to me, today or yesterday.
i found out that after clicking on a synaptic icon in the menu (or any other application) i have to click on the desktop, and then the synaptic (or any other application) opens.
weird.
is it a bug?
ps i am using 64bit elyssa on amd64 proc.

Re: What happened to Synaptic?!
Isn't that a different issue, though? Because I can't actually install anything at all. And this started today (at least, I noticed it today), whereas I have been using Mint for at least 6 months...
Edit: All of my programs are working fine other than that...

Oho! Something happened!
And now when I opened Synaptic it's fixed!
Thanks!
Do you have an idea why it happened though?

Re: What happened to Synaptic?!
Probably there was a problem with the packages list...
Why? Hmm maybe a problem one day when installing a package? Or you don't clean the cache... or a problem when refreshing/updating the packages list with the servers...
