I need to know how to install sound and vid drivers

I installed the latest 64-bit Mint. I get no sound, and my video is not configured for my card.

I am totally brand new to Linux. I downloaded and saved drivers for my cards, but I do not know how to install them.

Could someone please help?

When I keyed in your sound card + Ubuntu, I got lots of Google hits including http://lne.byexamples.com/?p=39 and http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=a ... gift&num=1 . You can probably find something that might work with that card with a few more hits. Good luck.

I think my level of understanding is too low for this board. I have not received the help for which I was looking.

I found a good build with Fedora 10. I am hopeful I can use my soundcard with that OS distro.
